H&M Plating has chromed and rebuilt industrial parts since 1971. Parts ship to our Houston shops from Chicago, the Gulf Coast and everywhere in between, and our hard chrome line runs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week so your parts keep moving.

Worn or damaged parts are usually restored with a strip → grind → chrome → grind sequence. We can add a sulfamate nickel underlay or weld overlay when the part needs a rebuild. OD/ID grinding, polishing and liquid penetrant NDT happen in-house, so your repair stays on one PO with one lead time and no shipping between vendors.

Can you chrome a part from out of state?
Yes. Customers ship to us from across the country. Send a drawing or photo first and we’ll confirm the quote and freight.
How long does hard chrome take?
Typically 3–4 weeks, and a 24-hour expedite is available on request.
What does a chrome repair involve?
Usually stripping, grinding, chroming and finish grinding. Your rep confirms the steps for your part.
Is HVOF better than chrome?
